Under the El Bazaar

This Saturday, July 18, the Fishtown District will throw a festive Christmas in July edition of their Under the El Bazaar series. Held beneath the Market-Frankford El along the 1700 block of North Front Street, the free, open-air block party will transform the neighborhood with local artisans, vintage vendors, live music, food, drinks, art, shopping, and entertainment from noon to 6 p.m. Visitors can browse gifts from local makers, enjoy festive island-inspired holiday music and decor, plus, take part in games, family-friendly activities, and seasonal surprises throughout the afternoon.

Guests can also snap photos with Santa from 1 to 3 p.m. before exploring food and drink offerings from neighborhood favorites like Evil Genius Beer Company, Percy Diner & Bar, Pure Green, LMNO, Mecha Noodle Bar, and International Bar. Admission is free; dogs are also welcome.

Wicked Gluten Free Expo & Food Festival

The Wicked Gluten Free Expo & Food Festival is set for Saturday, July 18, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, and will bring with it more than 110  vendors. Guests can sample and shop from a wide variety of celiac-safe foods, including baked goods, soft pretzels, pasta, pastries, sandwiches, fried chicken, desserts, beverages, and specialty pantry items. The festival also will boast food trucks, cooking demonstrations, health organizations, family-friendly activities, and free parking, with many vendors offering vegan and other allergen-friendly options alongside complimentary samples.

Beyond the food, attendees can also enjoy live cooking demonstrations and educational presentations from gluten-free experts, including Better Batter’s Patrick Auger and Aquafaba Test Kitchen’s Jennifer Greenhill. The festival will additionally open with a patriotic “Freedom from Gluten” cake-cutting ceremony celebrating America’s 250th Anniversary. Tickets for the Wicked Gluten Free Expo in Philadelphia are on sale now for $27.50 for adults and $8 for children 6 to 12 years old (kids 5 and under are admitted free of charge).

‘The Crossing’ at the Rodin Garden Bar Museum

The Rodin Museum Garden Bar has returned and once again will transform the venue’s sculpture garden into a seasonal pop-up destination. Running Fridays through Aug. 28, from 4 to 8 p.m., the series pairs an outdoor aperitif setting with access to the museum’s renowned collection of works by Auguste Rodin, offering guests a blend of art, atmosphere, and food and drink in one cohesive space.

The weekly Garden Bar features beer, wine, craft cocktails, and small plates curated by Constellation Culinary Group, but beyond that, visitors can step inside the museum or wander around the outdoor space to explore its galleries. The Garden Bar season also includes select programming, including a one-night performance by The Crossing, set for Friday, July 17 at 6:30 p.m.

Admission to the Garden Bar is free; admission to the Rodin Museum is pay-what-you-wish, and leashed four-legged friends are welcome in the garden.

Harrah’s Philadelphia Firework and Foodie Festival

Harrah’s Philadelphia will host its annual Philly Foodie & Fireworks Festival with a 250th Anniversary Celebration theme this Saturday, July 18. From 2 to 10 p.m., guests can sample more than 250 menu items from over 100 food vendors, including local restaurants and gourmet bites, with every booth offering at least one $5 option and most menu items priced at $10 or less. Throughout the day, the event will also feature live entertainment, an outdoor marketplace, a classic and custom car show, a pop-up beer garden, and a Kids Fun Zone with games, inflatables, and interactive activities included with admission.

The evening will culminate with a fireworks display at 9 p.m. Admission starts at $3 (via Eventbrite); entry is free for children ages 10 and under.

Ocean Casino’s Water Ice Festival

Philadelphians can cool off at Ocean Casino Resort’s first-ever Water Ice Festival. Set for Saturday, July 18, Ocean’s outdoor venue, The Park, will host this family-friendly celebration of the popular treat, featuring unlimited tastings from various water ice and Italian ice vendors from across New Jersey, Philadelphia, and New York. Guests can sample a wide selection of flavors, vote in a special contest for top pick, and enjoy face painting, caricatures, photo ops, and other immersive activities. Tickets start at $10 for kids and $20 for adults.
