The National Weather Service’s Fort Worth office expects this pattern to continue Thursday and Friday afternoon and evening before storm chances diminish over the weekend. The pattern is set to ease slightly. Excessive rainfall is not expected Thursday and Friday.
Though precipitation chances persist throughout the day, the weather service predicts Thursday’s chances will peak in the afternoon and early evening at 31%. Friday’s chances are also set to peak in the afternoon, at a slightly lower 19%.
Temperatures will remain cooler while the storm system passes through North Texas. Thursday’s high is predicted by the weather service to be 89 degrees, dropping as low as 75 degrees. The heat index, or “feels like” temperature, could reach 94.
Cloudy skies and moderate humidity will accompany precipitation Thursday, with wind gusts up to 17 miles per hour, according to the weather service.
Temperatures are forecast to begin to rise Friday, with the weather service predicting a high of 93 degrees.
Dallas will trade showers for dry heat this weekend, with temperatures forecast by the weather service to be back in the high 90s and heat indexes in the triple digits.
