While happy hour is usually associated with alcohol, you don’t have to go to a bar to snag a discount on food and drinks. Many spots around Tarrant County offer special prices for beverages and dining, mocktails included.
This week, we’re sharing new happy hour sips and bites cooked up by Don Artemio’s seafood-centric sister restaurant and a Southlake Italian joint along with sweet treats in Roanoke and grill-fired classics in Grapevine and Fort Worth.
The sister restaurant to Don Artemio just added a daily happy hour service, according to a news release. Running 3-6 p.m., new offerings include mini martinis and half-priced oysters.
Dos Mares focuses on coastal Mexican cuisine, with happy hour dishes “inspired by 17 coastal states,” according to the menu. Their Taco Baja de Camarón brings together shrimp tempura, garlic aioli and cabbage salad with flour tortillas for $5. The seared prime ribeye with caramelized onions, cilantro and chile de arbol sauce comes with a butter flour tortilla.
Mini martinis go for $7, but foodies can also order a flight of three for $20. During happy hour, glasses of wine are discounted 25% while cocktails and mocktails are $4 off.

Focaccia, meatballs at Calabrese
For Italian-influenced small bites, Calabrese in Southlake serves an array of specially priced dishes Sundays-Thursdays 4-6 p.m. for diners who grab a high top or a spot at the bar.
Traditional flavors abound on their happy hour menu, from meatballs with Parmesan and mozzarella to focaccia with rosemary, Calabria peppers and tomatoes. Cheese lovers might also consider the pizzetta or Formaggi Misti con Cristini, which pairs walnut crostini with wine-infused pecorino and sottocenere cheeses and spicy sun-dried tomatoes.
Their highlighted cocktails are a French 47 with Latin Lover Gin, old-fashioneds, margaritas and a citrus cosmo.

Drinks and desserts at Oak and Main
Draft beers and wine are discounted 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Friday at Oak and Main in Roanoke, with draft beers $1 off and glasses of wine $2 off. Their Patio Punches are $7, showcasing primarily fruity flavors like pineapple and peach in the Tropical Tango, a spicy fruit punch with habanero vodka and the black cherry rum-based Cruzan Oak Street.
Their online menus don’t show any happy hour dishes, but their regular menu displays starters, surf and turf mains, several burgers and sandwiches and a handful of salads.
Wanting something sweet? They have a raspberry donut cheesecake, chocolate layer cake, root beer floats, espresso-dusted dolce de leche and a caramel pear crumble with vanilla ice cream.

Cauliflower in chili sauce at Firebirds Wood Fired Grill
American cuisine is the theme at Firebirds Wood Fired Grill, so it’s no surprise that sliders are among happy hour specials diners can snag at their Fort Worth or Grapevine locations, either in the Firebar or from a patio table. They have two iterations of the mini burgers, one with shaved prime rib and horseradish sauce while the other features a traditional burger patty topped with cheddar, pickles, sauteed onions and yellow mustard.
If seafood is of more interest, there is the Fired Up Shrimp, which packs a bit of a punch with a Sriracha glaze, and for the vegetarians there is crispy cauliflower with Thai chili sauce and roasted garlic Parmesan fries with thyme butter.
Happy hour pours include Double Black Diamond Martini with pineapple vodka, discounted draft beers, select wines, well drinks and classic cocktails. The latter go for $7.95 and beers are $2 off.
