BRAINERD — A new work of art sits on the south lawn at Central Lakes College in Brainerd.
“Metamorphosis” is a 4,200-pound steel acorn sculpture measuring 8 feet tall, 20 feet long and 12 feet wide.
According to a CLC Facebook post, the sculpture symbolizes growth and transformation — a reminder that small beginnings can lead to extraordinary outcomes.
Artists are James Lundberg and Rebekah Glasman. The piece was commissioned by the state of Minnesota through the Minnesota Percent for Art Act.
Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of “staff.” Often, the “staff” byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
