Vermont man arrested in New York for DWI, illegal weapons possession
FORT ANN, N.Y. —
A Poultney, Vermont, man was arrested in Northern New York after police said he drove under the influence and had an illegal weapon.
Andrew Clement, 33, was arrested on Tuesday on charges including criminal weapons possession and driving while intoxicated.
New York State Police troopers pulled over Clement on State Route 4 in Fort Ann after they said he committed a vehicle and traffic law violation. Police said he was arrested on suspicion of DUI. During a search of his vehicle, police found an illegally-possessed handgun as well as high-capacity ammo feeding devices and drugs.
Clement was processed and refused a breath sample. He was then released and ordered to appear in court at a later date.
