Below-average temps this week before 110° returns

  • July 19, 2026

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — It was an overcast and rainy morning across the Valley, with some locations picking up a tenth to a quarter of an inch.

The rain has diminished throughout the early afternoon and storm chances will remain limited to the high country as we head into Sunday.

The next best chance for thunderstorm activity in Phoenix looks to be Tuesday or Wednesday. Still a few days out, so we will keep a close eye on that.

For Sunday, expect slightly humid conditions with highs near 101 degrees in Phoenix. Rain chances are only at about a 10% chance for the Valley, with high country locations looking at on-and-off showers and storms throughout Sunday.

The biggest threat will be heavy rain that could lead to flooding.

Temperatures will remain below average as we head into the work week, but models are showing drier and warmer conditions by the end of the week, with high temperatures near 110 degrees by next weekend.
