Authorities are investigating after a man was shot multiple times in the Bronx early Sunday morning.
According to police sources, cops discovered an injured man around 1:24 a.m. outside of the NYPD Strategic Response Group facility, located at 1278 Sedgwick Ave. in Highbridge. The 31-year-old man told officers that he had been shot in the right arm and right shoulder, and suffered a graze wound to the right side of the head.
EMS rushed him to Harlem Hospital, where he was treated for his injuries and listed in stable condition.
Upon further investigation, police discovered that the shooting itself took place outside of an apartment building located at 1526 Sedgwick Ave. in the confines of the 46th Precinct, where investigators found several shell casings.
Police said they are looking to question two men who fled on foot.
The number of shooting incidents in the confines of the 46th Precinct are down by 17% so far this year, according to NYPD data, however, the number of murders have surged by over 166%.
No arrests have been made in this shooting and the investigation remains ongoing.
