Lewiston asks residents to avoid unnecessary water usage until 3 p.m.
The water conservation advisory comes following a water main break

The city of Lewiston has issued a temporary water conservation advisory until 3 p.m. on July 26, as public works crews repair an existing water main break near Lake Auburn.In order to maintain an adequate water supply, the Lewiston Public Works Department asks that you avoid any unnecessary water usage, such as watering your lawn, washing your car or filling a pool. It’s still safe to drink the tap water, and there’s no restriction on drinking, cooking, showering or running a full dishwasher or laundry machine. Meanwhile, the pool at Kennedy Park will remain open.
