There is no shortage of smiles on kids who are getting ready to start the new school year.
That was evident Friday at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale. A huge venue normally reserved for major events like A-list musicians passing through town on tour, the arena on this day was home to the annual Back-to-School Giveaway, sponsored by Lerner & Rowe, that drew a line literally halfway around the building just to get inside.
The law firm’s goal to give away 6,250 backpacks filled with school supplies in seven cities across the U.S., including Glendale, certainly got a warm approval from the kids.
