An extreme heat watch begins Thursday for southwest Arizona, including the Phoenix metro area, with highs expected to reach 110 to 114 degrees through Monday. A Flood Watch is in effect Tuesday for northern and southeastern Arizona, where thunderstorms could drop 1 to 2 inches of rain and trigger flash flooding. Phoenix could see storms and gusty outflow winds tonight, along with possible blowing dust. The Valley cools near 103 Tuesday before temperatures rise again later this week. Flagstaff has already received 2.74 inches of rain since June 15, well above its normal monsoon-to-date total.
