Police examined an object with wiring attached downtown Saturday, but though it turned out to be harmless, San Diego Trolley service was disrupted.

The object was first reported at 10:40 a.m. Saturday by the entrance of the San Diego Law Library at 1105 Front St., according to San Diego police.

The suspicious object was described as a dark and square package that appeared to have wiring extending out of it, but ultimately an officer said it “didn’t turn out to be anything dangerous.”

The Metropolitan Transit System – during one of its busiest times of the year due to San Diego Comic-Con – shut down trolley service through the C Street intersection as authorities investigated. Service resumed Saturday afternoon.

There were no reported arrests in connection with the object.
