Astronomer lost its CEO and HR executive amidst the viral Coldplay concert scandal.
And now in a very clever marketing ad, Astronomer hired Paltrow, lead singer of Coldplay, Chris Martin’s ex-wife as a “temporary spokesperson.” Just hours after the tech company’s chief of human resources officer, Kristin Cabot resigned, Astronomer took to social media to share the ad starring the Oscar winner as a “temporary spokesperson” to inform the public on what the now popular company actually does.
“Thank you for your interest in Astronomer,” Paltrow open the video. “I’ve been hired on a very temporary basis to speak on behalf of the 300-plus employees at Astronomer. Astronomer has gotten a lot of questions over the last few days, and they wanted me to answer the most common ones.”
These questions include, “OMG. What the f-“and “How is your social media team hold-,” with Paltrow cheekily dismissing the scandal and instead offering answers about Astronomer.
“We are thrilled so many people have an interest in data workflow automation. We will now be returning to what we do best: Delivering game-changing results for our customers. Thank you for your interest in Astronomer.”
Andy Byron, resigned from his post as CEO of Astronomer last week, and Cabot resigned on Thursday following their moment at the Coldplay concert.
The “couple” was caught on the jumbotron at a recent Coldplay concert where they looked caught off-guard when their embrace was seen by more than 50,000 people at Gillette Stadium and their immediate reaction caused a slurry of memes over the last week.
