Heritage Corridor Destinations and NCI ARTworks are showcasing the works of Larisa Sarver at the Starved Rock Country Welcome Center in Utica.
The Starved Rock Country Welcome Center is open daily from 12 p.m. 6 p.m.
A VIP Art Reception will be 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, July 24. Light refreshments will be served. The event is free and open to the public.
Sarver grew up on a farm outside Serena and learned about plants from her father and about gardening from her mother, which helped her develop a great love of nature that comes through in her artwork. After graduating from Serena High School, she attended Illinois State University and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Art Education.
Larisa taught at various schools around the area, including La Salle–Peru Township High School.
She has exhibited both her photographic work and her paintings at various juried and non-juried art exhibitions throughout the Illinois Valley. View more of Larisa Sarver’s work at NCI Artworks in the historic Westclox Building (Peru).
Larisa is a passionate and talented local artist who is always excited to share her work and talk about her techniques. She and her husband, Greg, recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary and they enjoy spending time with their friends and family.
