JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (WITN) – One Eastern Carolina park has added turtle crossing signs to remind drivers to look out for them.
The signs were placed around Sturgeon City in Jacksonville, which is right next to the New River and is home to wildlife.
City officials added the signs in areas where the speed limit is already 15.
Sturgeon City’s Facebook page says those who’d like to save a turtle crossing the road should pick it up and take it in the direction it is heading.
