New York Liberty superstar guard Sabrina Ionescu went off on the referees during Saturday night’s home loss to the Los Angeles Sparks over a questionable call.
After the refs wiped away a crucial Ionescu three on what they deemed was an illegal screen on Liberty center Jonquel Jones in the game’s third quarter, Ionescu became irate and argued with the officials over the decision.

Ionescu got so mad that she dared the refs to give her a technical foul, which they of course obliged. She was absolutely furious, and with the way WNBA officiating has gone this season, you could understand why.
We’re sure New York will seek clarification with the league on what exactly happened here.
New York losing at the last second made this sequence even worse, as did losing superstar forward Breanna Stewart to an injury during the contest.
It was an all-around bad day for the Liberty, and Ionescu’s anger exemplified that.
