JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (WITN) – Jacksonville police say a vehicle break-in patrol led to the arrest of a man who had multiple outstanding warrants.
Thursday, around 2:00 AM, police were patrolling the area of Williamsburg Parkway near Western Boulevard as recent vehicle break-ins and dumped stolen vehicles have been reported around the area.
Officials say an officer saw three people wearing dark colored hoodies pulled over their heads, with one person wearing a ski mask.
The officer tried to speak with the individuals, but officials say they ran away.
After a chase, the three people were caught. Officials say one of the individuals was 19-year-old Jordan Lewis, who had a concealed gun and five felony warrants for breaking and entering.
The other two were teenagers who were released to their parents.
In addition to his five felony warrants, Lewis was charged with resisting a public officer, carrying a concealed gun, and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Officials say this is an ongoing investigation and officers are currently taking reports of vehicle break-ins.
