Operation Homefront is a non-profit, working to make back-to-school time easier for military families as part of their annual Back-to-School Brigade.
On Saturday, they brought 400 backpacks to military kids in Jacksonville.
Since 2008, Operation Homefront’s back to school Brigade has provided nearly 600,000 backpacks to military families saving more than 60 million dollars in back to school expenses.
Operation Homefront senior manager Rachael Tetraeau says this program will help thousands of kids this year.
This is part of our back-to-School Brigade program where all across the country we are serving 40,000 kids with backpacks, school supplies, everything that they need to be set-up for success in the coming school year
Back to school Brigade representatives say this is about much more than just pencils and notebooks, but helping children feel confident, and building a sense of belonging and community.
