First Bank Texas has named Courtney Garner Lewis as its new Fort Worth area president, citing her strong local connections and more than 20 years of commercial banking experience as key to the appointment.
The move coincides with the opening of the bank’s newest Fort Worth office in the Fort Worth Club Tower, Suite 800.
“Her deep understanding of the local market and her passion for building relationships make her the ideal leader to represent First Bank Texas as we expand our footprint in Fort Worth,” said Zan Prince, chairman of the board at First Bank Texas, in a statement.
A Dallas native who “made her way to Fort Worth as fast as possible,” Lewis is recognized for her collaborative approach, community involvement, and focus on delivering tailored financial solutions, according to a press release. Prior to joining First Bank Texas, she held leadership roles with both regional and national banks in commercial lending and relationship management.
“Joining First Bank Texas feels like coming home,” said Lewis. “I’m honored to lead our Fort Worth efforts and look forward to growing alongside the businesses and families we serve.”
Founded in 1880, First Bank Texas has deep roots in West Texas and North Texas. The Fort Worth expansion underscores its strategy of entering growth markets while maintaining the personalized service the bank is known for, bank officials said.
Last month, the bank debuted a mobile branch in Willow Park. The mobile branch is outfitted with full-service account support and instant-issue debit card printing. There is also real-time video banking when more in-depth support is required. Customers can open accounts, talk to a video banker via an ITM — Interactive Teller Machine — and even begin the process for personal, home, and business loans and wealth planning.
