Oppo apparently has plans up its sleeve

It’s hardly surprising that Oppo, of all companies, has such plans up their sleeve. With its 18:9 aspect ratio, the 2022 Oppo Find N2 already stood in stark contrast to the then-extremely tall 23.1:9 aspect ratio of Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold4. In the years that followed, Oppo adapted to the standard foldable format and made it’s foldables taller again. Google’s first Pixel Fold was also significantly wider than its South Korean competitor. Oppo is now potentially considering a 16:10 display measuring about 6.3 to 6.4 inches for its smartphone once again. Whether this only has advantages for the user, is debatable though. At the very least, one-handed operation would likely be more limited for many people. According to Digital Chat Station, there are currently no signs of an upcoming mass production of such a bar-style 16:10 phone.
