Chicago weather forecast: Chance for severe storms Monday morning

CHICAGO (WLS) — The Chicago area is heating up again and there is a chance for severe storms in the forecast for Monday morning.

The Chicago area is under a Level 2 risk for severe weather for Monday morning.

ABC7 Accuweather Meteorologist Jaisol Martinez said the daytime Sunday will be mainly dry, with a chance for severe storms late around 10 p.m.

Martinez said another round of severe storms could move in between 6-11 a.m. Monday.

After clearing in the afternoon, there is a chance for more storms Monday evening.

Highs Sunday will be in the 90s, with a heat index values around 100.

Monday will also be hot, with a heat index value near 105.

A reminder during this heat: community cooling centers are open.
