At least four people were injured in gun violence over the weekend across Philadelphia.
Officers were called at around 1:15 p.m. Sunday to 33rd and Diamond streets in Strawberry Mansion for a report of a shooting, police said. When they arrived, the victim, an adult man, had already been taken to Temple University Hospital, according to law enforcement officials.
Earlier Sunday, at around 11:30 a.m., someone shot an adult woman on the 3400 block of Red Lion Road in the Far Northeast, authorities said. Medics took her to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital.
The PPD did not provide any further details on either shooting Sunday, and there was no word on the condition of the victims.
Police said a 38-year-old man was leaving a party when he was shot at around 3:45 a.m. Sunday on the 2100 block of N. 18th Street in North Philadelphia. He showed up to Temple University with a wound to his right knee and was being treated for nonlife-threatening injuries, according to law enforcement.
On Saturday, at around 12:30 a.m., a 63-year-old man was shot in the abdomen on the 800 block of N. 39th Street in the Mantua section of West Philadelphia, the PPD stated. He is expected to survive. Investigators believe the shooting may have happened during an attempted robbery.
No arrests have been reported in connection with any of the incidents. Anyone with information is asked to call or text the PPD tip line at 215-686-TIPS (8477).
Through July 25, 391 people had been shot in Philadelphia this year, down 34% compared to the same date in 2025, according to police data.
