In today’s edition of unexpected tea, there seems to be some beef off the WNBA court. Some of the league’s greatest athletes played the All-Star game in Chicago on Saturday, July 25, and it turns out some relationship drama between DiJonai Carrington and her ex/former teammate, NaLyssa Smith, has resurfaced.
After NaLyssa allegedly showed up to an All-Star after-party hosted by two of DiJonai’s besties, the StudBudz (AKA Natisha Hiedeman and Courtney Williams), the Chicago Sky forward hopped on Threads to accuse NaLyssa of cheating on her with other players in the league before they broke up in late 2025.
“Since mfs wanna be funny today ima be hilarious! yes, nalyssa cheated on me with Deja Kelly and Aaliyah Nye +++ many more,” DiJonai wrote.
There are layers to this, since the StudBudz had reportedly supported DiJonai in the wake of her split and even unfollowed NaLyssa in solidarity. According to eyewitnesses at the party—and footage posted to Threads—NaLyssa was escorted out of the event.
Other reports revealed that NaLyssa had allegedly pulled up to two separate parties that DiJonai was already attending that weekend, including the StudBudz’s bash.
Oh, and remember Deja Kelly, who was mentioned in DiJonai’s accusation? She was at the StudBudz’s party, too, though she and Aaliyah have yet to publicly respond to her claims.

After ^^^ all that, NaLyssa responded to DiJonai’s allegations against her during a livestream, where she said, “Whether she cheated on me and I cheated on her…why are we bringing that to the internet a year later when nobody did anything to anybody?”
“To bring it to the internet a year later is crazy. Just for fun? That’s ridiculous. Especially when you’re in a happy, healthy relationship. I would never in my life do that to nobody if I was in a happy, healthy relationship,” she continued, seemingly making a dig at DiJonai’s rumored new partner.
Definitely not the kind of heat I was anticipating from these athletes, but I’m already tuning in for a potential response from DiJonai.
