‘Poor wedding planning?’: 4 players for Minnesota Twins to get married on the same day
Call it an unexpected quadruple play: Four Minnesota Twins players will get married on the same day this year, Nov. 14, creating a rare scheduling coincidence.
MLB.com’s Matthew Leach reports that the players and their manager said their shared busy baseball schedule led to the weddings being set for the same date, and that it’s not uncommon for professional baseball players to get married in March, ahead of Thanksgiving.
Cole Sands, Luke Keaschall, Brooks Lee and Ryan Kreidler did not learn about the shared wedding plans until they started talking during spring training. Leach reported.
Major League Baseball shared the news on social media with the teasing question, “Poor wedding planning?”
The players’ overlapping social circles — and teammates — could make it difficult for mutual invitees to choose which wedding to attend.
In his “Twins Beat” newsletter, Leach wrote that Twins manager Rocco Baldelli said he cannot attend any of the four weddings because he had prior plans — and that his own wedding anniversary is the day after the four weddings. The team manager said he intends to send each of them a gift.
