First Alert Days are in effect through Sunday as dangerous heat continues across metro Phoenix. An extreme heat warning remains in effect through Wednesday evening and could extend later into the week. Highs are expected to reach about 111 degrees Monday, 107 Tuesday and near 112 Wednesday. A strengthening area of high pressure could push afternoon temperatures to 114 to 117 degrees from late week through the weekend, challenging daily records. Humidity and a slight chance for overnight storms may bring little relief, with lows staying in the 90s into early Tuesday.
