Take the 1997 Oscar-winning romantic comedy “As Good As It Gets,” starring Jack Nicholson and Helen Hunt.

There’s a scene when actress Shirley Knight, who plays Hunt’s mom in the movie where the two share space in a cramped apartment, wants to give Hunt’s character some privacy. Hunt’s character is in another room with a date, and Knight cleans the apartment behind a curtain while she blares music in her portable headphones to mask any sounds from the other room.
