Masked burglars broke into the residence of actor and producer Martha Higareda and her author husband Lewis Howes overnight in Studio City, multiple law enforcement sources told NBC4 Investigates.
At least two men broke into the home apparently by smashing rear glass doors. Police searched the home, but the intruders had already left the property.
Details about what was stolen were not immediately available. The residents were not home at the time.
No arrests were reported.

Born in Mexico, Higareda began acting at an early age and landed her first leading role in the 2002 film “Amar te duele” (“Love Hurts”). Higareda also had roles in 2007’s “Borderland,” “Street Kings” (2008), “No Manches Frida” (2016) and the Netflix series “Altered Carbon.” Higareda, who has 6.5 million Instagram followers, wrote and starred in the 2023 Netflix film “Queens on the Run.”
She wrote and produced her first independent film “Te present a Laura” and wrote, produced and starred in “Casese Quien Pueda” (“Marry me if you can”).
Howes is a former professional athlete, podcast host and New York Times best-selling author of “The School of Greatness.” The former Division III All-American played for the Tennessee Valley Vipers in the Arena Football League’s developmental league.
