The Dallas Wings will play the Las Vegas Aces Sunday night, marking their fifth sold-out game this season.
ARLINGTON, Texas — The Dallas Wings are back in action Sunday night, and they’ll be playing in front of a sold-out crowd.
The Wings (7-18) announced Friday that College Park Center has sold out for their game against the Las Vegas Aces (12-13), marking the franchise’s fifth sellout game this regular season.
Dallas is coming off a 10-point loss to the Golden State Valkyries. The Wings are also less than two weeks removed from a four-point loss against the Aces, who are looking to bounce back from a 109-78 blowout loss to the Minnesota Lynx.
The Wings have struggled this season, sitting in last place in the Western Conference and second-to-last in overall standings.
The season has had its highlights, namely All-Star rookie Paige Bueckers, who is averaging 18.1 points, 5.6 assists and 1.8 steals per game in her freshman campaign. However, Bueckers will not be available against Las Vegas for rest.
As the team has struggled with injuries, the Wings’ other first-round pick, NC State alum Aziaha James, has had a decent start, averaging 8.5 points on 39% shooting.
The Aces, once a dominant dynasty in the WNBA, have shown cracks in the armor this season. The team lost All-Star guard Kelsey Plum this offseason to a three-team trade that brought in Jewell Loyd from the Storm. Since joining Vegas, Loyd has averaged 10.4 points per game, her lowest ever on the professional level.
