Fort Worth’s summer heat has been no joke these past few weeks. To escape the blast furnace, I’ve been trying my best to chill out with as many creative, indoor activities as possible.
If, like me, you’re looking for some artsy ways to stay out of the sun, then head to ArtSpace111 for the return of the Fort Worth gallery’s annual Texas Juried Exhibition. The show features more than 40 artists who create some of the best contemporary art in the state.
Juror Terri Provencal, editor-in-chief of Patron Magazine, selected the exhibition’s artists after viewing more than 2,400 submissions of artwork by 725 artists. Find out which Fort Worth creatives are featured in the show, below.

Travel to prehistoric times at Grapevine dinosaur adventure
Families can walk through different maze paths as they uncover fossils and fun facts about dinosaurs. Guests can snap photos at the Dino Quest Jeep, enjoy coloring themed pages and interact with baby dinosaur puppets. On view through Aug. 30.

Shed a tear at poetic play about two star-crossed lovers
The musical tells the story of Klook and Vinette as they try to find happiness together before their past choices catch up to them. The stage show blends soul, jazz and R&B through Aug. 30.

Listen to covers of iconic songs from King of Country Music
Tribute artist Howard Decker will perform several songs from legendary country singer George Strait, including “Amarillo By Morning” and “Write This Down.”
