KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — VFL Rickea Jackson delivered in the clutch, hitting the game-winning basket to lift the Los Angeles Sparks over the New York Liberty last night, 101–99. Her buzzer-beating layup not only sealed a thrilling win, but extended the Sparks’ win streak to five games.
Jackson showed incredible body control on the decisive play, finishing through contact with perfect balance to close out one of the most impressive games of her young WNBA career.
The 6-foot-2 power forward was in total command of the game from start to finish. She shot 60 percent from the field and knocked down four three-pointers, showcasing her inside-out versatility.
Jackson is averaging 18 points per game over the Sparks’ five-game win streak — a five-point jump over her season average. The Sparks will face off against the Las Vegas Aces at on Tuesday at 10 p.m. in the Crypto Arena.
