Jamestown Canyon Virus detected in more NH towns

Jamestown Canyon Virus detected in mosquito batches in Hampton, Derry

MANCHESTER, N.H. —

Hampton and Derry are now the latest communities where mosquito batches have tested positive for Jamestown Canyon Virus.

Positive batches have also been found in Exeter, Fremont, Kingston and Salem.

The virus can be passed to humans and can cause serious neurological issues like meningitis.

So far, there have been no human or animal cases identified this year.
