Buffalo, NY (WGR 550) – The Buffalo Sabres on Sunday signed newly acquired defenseman Conor Timmins to a two-year contract worth $4.4 million.
The signing avoids arbitration and leaves Devon Levi as Buffalo lone restricted free agent that hasn’t signed yet.
On June 28, the Sabres acquired Timmins and minor league defenseman Isaac Belliveau from the Pittsburgh Penguins for Connor Clifton and a second-round pick.
The trade is an upgrade over Clifton who struggled mightily since being signed in 2023 from the Boston Bruins.
Last season Timmins started with the Toronto Maple Leafs where he played 51 games scoring two goals and six assists for eight points. On March 7 he was sent to the Pens where he played 17 games scoring a goal and six assists for seven points.
