President Trump doubled down on his golf decision following Saturday’s protests in Scotland.

The President of the United States played a round of golf at his club in Scotland, Trump Turnberry, on Saturday. President Trump was joined by his son, Eric Trump, who runs his golf business. A U.S. Ambassador also played alongside the Trumps.

But protestors turned out in force, making it clear that they didn’t want President Trump playing golf in Scotland.

“I don’t think I could just stand by and not do anything,” one protestor, aged 15, told CBS News. She attended the protest with her parents and she held a cardboard sign that said “We don’t negotiate with fascists.”

She added that “so many people here loathe him. We’re not divided. We’re not divided by religion, or race or political allegiance, we’re just here together because we hate him.”

But while nationwide protests have broken out against President Trump, the man with Scottish roots doubled down on his decision on Sunday.

President Trump decided to return to the course on Sunday.

From BBC:

Donald Trump has played another round of golf on the second full day of his visit to Scotland ahead of trade talks with the EU Commission president.

Despite showery conditions, the US president finished 18 holes at Turnberry in South Ayrshire with guests and family, including his son Eric.

A small group of pro-Trump protesters gathered in the grounds of the resort with a placard which read “President Trump don’t trust Starmer”.

It is believed Trump’s only major business meeting on Sunday will be with Ursula von der Leyen‬, who has said they will discuss “transatlantic trade relations, and how we can keep them strong”.

President Trump isn’t going to let anything get in the way of his golf rounds, he’s made that clear.
