The Dream on Monday will host a Barbie Game Day during the team’s game against the Aces. The game was moved from Gateway Center Arena — which draws fewer than 4,000 fans — to State Farm Arena. Fans will “have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a glittery pink world” and have a chance to “purchase Barbie-themed items ahead of the game.” Ticket packages will “enable fans to choose between a Barbie-inspired headband, crossbody bag or jersey — depending on the package tier.” On July 24, Mattel released a doll in the likeness of Dream F Angel Reese for its Barbie Signature line. Reese is the “first Black WNBA player — and only the second WNBA player in history — to have a Barbie doll” (UATL.com, 8/3).
