Police are investigating a double hit-and-run that was captured on video on the 110 Freeway in South Los Angeles overnight.
Officers responded to a crash at about 2:30 a.m. Sunday on the northbound side of the 110 Freeway, California Highway Patrol said. Police were called to the freeway just south of Gage Avenue, where two separate crashes occurred within the same vicinity.
Video captured of the incident showed a dark-colored vehicle on the third lane of the freeway side-sweep a car to its right, forcing it toward a wall. The dark-colored vehicle ricocheted and struck the car to its left, as well.
It’s unclear what caused the initial vehicle to strike the other cars, CHP said. The second, separate crash could not be seen in the footage.
In both instances, a hit-and-run occurred. No arrests have been made. No injuries were reported in connection with either crash, CHP said.
A detailed description of the vehicles responsible for the hit-and-runs was not immediately available.
CHP’s Central Los Angeles office has taken the lead in the investigation.
