OXNARD, Calif. — Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb missed just one game in the first four seasons of his career.
Over the last two seasons, Lamb missed five.
He enters the 2026 season hoping to not miss any games.

For that to happen, Lamb has turned taking care of his body into a full-time job. Outside of private trainers, he’s also using red light therapy, a non-invasive treatment in which low-level red and near-infrared light is used to improve blood flow and reduce inflammation.
Lamb says he does the therapy at home for his entire body. People use the treatment on their faces with a mask and other parts of their body by using panels, wands and full body beds.
“It regenerates the flesh and speeds up your blood circulation and things of that nature,” Lamb said. “It’s fire.”
Lamb noted he doesn’t use the therapy on his face.
Last season, Lamb missed three games with an ankle injury. The year before that, he missed two games because of a sprained AC joint.

“You can’t really avoid freak things like that,” he said. “That’s just what happens.”
The injuries haven’t stopped him from earning Pro Bowl berths in the last two seasons. Overall, he’s been named to four Pro Bowls.
Lamb caught 176 passes for 2,271 yards and nine touchdowns in those 2024 and 2025 seasons.
When Lamb went down with an ankle injury last September, you could say it allowed George Pickens to emerge as the top receiver on the team. Once Lamb returned, he produced four 100-yard games in finishing with 1,077 receiving yards and three touchdowns. It was the fewest touchdowns of Lamb’s career, but he wasn’t concerned about it.
He wanted to make sure Pickens was able to produce, which he did, earning his first Pro Bowl berth with a career-high 1,429 yards and nine touchdowns.

“I’m his biggest fan,” Lamb said.

Before the Cowboys acquired Pickens in a trade with the Steelers last offseason, Lamb was the No. 1 target for quarterback Dak Prescott. Lamb has indicated he doesn’t need to be the top target on the team because he wants Pickens to thrive in this offense and get a long-term contract, whether that’s with the Cowboys or with another team if he hits free agency.
“They helped me be comfortable,” Prescott said. “Those guys are ridiculous in their ability to get open, their ability to win in one-on-one. Right now it’s just about continuing to communicate about the zones and where they need to be in certain timings when it’s not man-to-man.”
But if and when Pickens is slowed by defenses, Lamb is ready to emerge as the threat in an offense that finished seventh in the NFL in 2025. Lamb is considered one of the top receivers in the NFL. He led the league in targets and catches in 2023 and he commands the fifth-highest average salary ($34 million) in the NFL among receivers.

“We’ll have continued growth,” Lamb said. “Obviously we understand we were successful but none of that success from last year can carry over. We’re basically starting over from scratch, building that bond once again. And I feel like kinda carrying over there’s a lot of things that we missed out on last year and we can definitely harp on and gradually get better overall as an offense.”
The biggest thing for Lamb outside of the offensive production is health.
He talks about “being available for my team” and while its just a handful of games he’s missed in his career, he takes every game personally.
The margin to win is small in the NFL sometimes and Lamb doesn’t want to give opponents any advantages.
“He treats his body like a temple as we all should,” fellow receiver Ryan Flournoy said. “The way we eat and the way we treat it, the way we spend our time on our bodies, massages, all that stuff. [Lamb] got people out here, they are professional people. So he’s doing a great job with that.”
