Police release photo of bear after sightings reported in Roseville, Rocklin
ROSEVILLE, Calif. —
Roseville police said they are tracking a bear that was sighted multiple times in a residential area.
The bear was spotted Tuesday evening on Foothills Boulevard between Pleasant Grove Boulevard and Blue Oaks Boulevard.
As of 8:50 a.m. Wednesday, Roseville police and California Department of Fish and Wildlife officers have yet to find it. There have been no reported injuries.
This marked the second city with a bear sighting in the area. A bear was also spotted in Rocklin, the adjacent city, on Tuesday. Police said they believed the sightings in Roseville could be related, but they said they could not confirm that.
Officials say that if you spot a bear, you should keep your distance. Residents are advised to keep their pets indoors or on a leash, as well as to secure any sources of food.
If the bear poses an immediate threat, residents should call 911.
