SAN ANTONIO — Authorities have arrested a suspect in connection with a stabbing on the city’s far West Side.

According to court records, officers responded to a call about an ongoing altercation on June 8 off Dugas Drive near Potranco Road.

Upon arrival, officers found two victims with apparent puncture and laceration wounds. One victim answered the door and was covered in blood, while another victim was discovered inside the house with similar injuries. Both were transported to the hospital for treatment.

A witness at the scene, the stepmother of the suspect, stated her stepson, Oscar Cantu, 36, was involved in a fight.

At the hospital, one victim recounted that he was discussing a previous incident with Cantu when he became upset, retrieved a knife from the kitchen, and attacked him. He was pushed to the ground and cut with the knife. The other victim attempted to intervene but was also injured.

Oscar Cantu has been arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
