The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and Jersey City Police Department are investigating an incident where a woman was sexually assaulted downtown late last night.
Shortly after 11:30 p.m. Saturday, the Jersey City Police Department was notified of a sexual assault on Sussex Street, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said in a statement.
Responding officers located a female victim who reported an unknown man physically and sexually assaulted her as she entered a residence.
The female victim was transported by EMS to the Jersey City Medical Center where she was treated for her injuries and no arrests have been made at this time.
This matter is actively being investigated by the HCPO Special Victims Unit and the Jersey City PD.
