Love is in the air. At least that’s what one study says is happening in a major Central Texas city and a few others across the country.
Agilis ranked the top five most amor-inducing travel spots in America for couples to getaway or singles to find their one true match. Researchers examined Google search trends across 30 cities accounting for each population, to track 28 popular romance-related terms such as “romantic getaways,” “date night ideas,” “proposal locations,” “anniversary ideas” and “romantic restaurants.”
With 212 romance-related searches per 100,000 residents, New York City was crowned the No. 1 spot for America’s most romantic city while Nashville, Tennessee took the No. 2 slot for lovers with 201.5 searches per 100,000 residents. Coming in third place, Austin had 200.1 romance-related searches per 100,000 people.
After Austin, the last two romantic cities in the U.S. per the Agilis report were Chicago, Illinois (No. 4) and Jacksonville, Florida (No. 5).
