Dallas-Fort Worth’s triple-digit temperature trend returned Monday, and forecasters are predicting the region will not see heat relief anytime soon.

Thursday is expected to see a high of 100 degrees, with a heat index, or “feels like,” temperature of 103 because of rising humidity levels, according to the National Weather Service.

Temperatures are expected to be at their highest Thursday from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. North Texans may feel a slight breeze Thursday, and no rain is expected in the area.

The rest of the week is lining up to feature back-to-back 100-degree days, topping out Sunday with a projected heat index of 107 degrees.

D-FW has seen several weeks of 100-degree temperatures this summer, despite the brief pause last weekend due to what the weather service called a “weak cold front,” in which temperatures retreated temporarily under 100 degrees.

Prior to the break, Dallas-Forth Worth was under either a heat advisory or extreme heat warning every day since July 20, according to the weather service.

Previous chances for rain have decreased slightly, as the weather service now expects chances for rain east of Interstate 35 to remain around 10% this weekend.

Heat advisories going into this next week may be possible, but the weather service said Thursday’s temperature is expected to be “sporadic and confined enough” to likely go without an official advisory.

The weather service encourages individuals spending time outside to stay hydrated and find ways to cool off, such as by staying in the shade or taking breaks indoors. North Texans looking to escape the heat this weekend can also check out some of D-FW’s places to escape high temperatures, such as splash pads, public pools and museums.
