The Wisconsin Badgers are in wait-and-see mode with a lot of their top remaining targets, and one of those decisions will be coming rather soon.
2026 three-star defensive back Chase Geter is announcing his commitment on Sunday, according to 247Sports, and he is down to four finalists: Wisconsin, Virginia, Syracuse, and Duke.
Geter took official visits to all four schools, and was in Madison during the weekend of June 6th.
While he is being recruited as a cornerback elsewhere, Wisconsin sees the three-star Virginia native as a versatile defensive back who can start off at safety.
Both safeties coach Jack Cooper and cornerbacks coach Paul Haynes have been involved, and versatility could end up being Geter’s calling card at the next level, but he is one of Wisconsin’s top defensive back targets regardless.
Wisconsin has hosted a wide array of safety targets this month, landing a commitment from three-star Texas native Zachary Taylor. Now, they still have two openings left in the secondary for their 2026 class, with quite a few names being floated around.
In addition to Geter, Wisconsin has hosted three-star safety Jowell Combay, three-star cornerback Jamyan Theodore, three-star safety Nick Reddish, and three-star safety Tony Forney on official visits.
If Geter pledges to the Badgers this weekend, he’d be the 14th recruit to commit to Wisconsin’s 2026 class, joining Taylor and three-star cornerbacks Carsen Eloms in the secondary.
