Pennsylvania residents can now see vaccination rates for individual schools through a new online dashboard launched by the Pennsylvania Department of Health in partnership with the Pennsylvania Department of Education.

The tool, which includes data from the 2025-26 school year, is the first to make school-level immunization rates publicly available statewide. Previously, vaccination information was reported at the county and state levels.

According to state officials, the dashboard was created to give parents and communities greater access to information about vaccination rates in schools and to support informed healthcare decisions. The tool also fulfills a requirement outlined in Gov. Josh Shapiro’s Executive Order 2025-02, which focuses on expanding access to vaccine information.

“Knowledge is power, and Pennsylvania parents deserve clear, accessible data about the health of their children’s schools,” said Secretary of Health Dr. Debra Bogen. “This new tool cuts through the noise, putting critical information directly into the hands of families.”

The new dashboard comes as measles cases continue to rise across the United States. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has reported more than 2,400 confirmed measles cases nationwide this year, with outbreaks reported in multiple states, including Pennsylvania.

Health officials strongly recommend that parents follow the routine immunization schedule and ensure children are fully vaccinated. 

A look at the numbers

According to the Department of Health, more than 90% of Pennsylvania schools submitted immunization data for the 2025-26 school year.

Among the findings:

• More than half of reporting schools have kindergarten MMR (measles, mumps and rubella) vaccination rates of at least 95%, the level public health experts say helps protect communities from outbreaks.

• More than 200 schools reported a 100% MMR vaccination rate among kindergarten students.

• More than 74% of reporting schools met or exceeded the 95% MMR benchmark for seventh graders, and more than one-quarter reported a 100% vaccination rate.

• More than 83% of reporting schools met or exceeded the 95% MMR benchmark for 12th graders, while more than 22% reported a 100% vaccination rate.

The dashboard also includes vaccination exemption rates for individual schools.

Under Pennsylvania law, schools are required to report immunization data for kindergarten, seventh grade and 12th grade students to the Department of Health by Dec. 31 each year. State officials said they plan to work with schools that have not yet submitted data to improve reporting rates.

Additional features, including the ability to search by school district, are expected to be added later this year. More updates are planned when 2026-27 school year data becomes available.
