With a preseason football game scheduled in five days, the Chicago Bears Communications team released the first unofficial depth chart of the season.
Now, before you run down and look at the first, second, and third strings, re-read that opening sentence.
It’s put together by the Bears’ communications team, so the coaches were not consulted. Hence the “unofficial” designation. Just like we shouldn’t get worked up over practice reps — we talking ‘bout practice — we shouldn’t get worked up over a preseason depth chart compiled by some Bears staffer giving his best guess.
Also, the depth charts list injured players who have practiced, but not anyone on the PUP list, since they haven’t been on the field yet.
I’ll share the depth chart below, with screenshots courtesy of the team site, because the one circulating on social media spelled the Bears’ first-round draft pick’s name wrong (smh).
Do you guys have any other takeaways from the unofficial death chart?
