On Monday (August 10th), Alex Terrible of Slaughter To Prevail took to social media in response to a comment left by someone on a reel following the band’s performance at Bloodstock Festival. Throughout the day, Terrible continued to add screenshots from additional fans with his own comments. Toward the end of that same day, it all traces of the posts were taken down by Terrible and he continued to explain why on an Instagram story.
Following these comments by fans in which the main concern seemed to circle around Terrible’s relationship with the trans community, K Enagonio (The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Chasing Satellites) has taken to social media with their own post in support of Alex Terrible.
In the post, Enagonio states:
People will fight with a brick wall just to try to feel something.
Alex does not care how anyone lives their life. I’ve talked to him ad nauseam about it, IN PERSON, not online (lol). He’s just trying to do the same.
People are saying he should “use his platform to show support for x, y, z” and that may be the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. Alex can use his platform for whatever he feels is necessary.
Example: listen to Rodina or 1984. He’s calling out what the Russian state is doing and how it’s causing so much trauma and turmoil in the region and that he’s against the violence.
People that try to police others get soooo mad when someone exercises their right to free speech. The double standards and goal post shifting is exhausting.
The real ones know that the internet isn’t real and everyone is a coward face to face.
