Former UConn men’s basketball star and 2023 Final Four Most Outstanding Player Adama Sanogo will continue his professional career overseas.

The former Husky and double-double machine signed a contract with the Trapani Sharks in Serie A, the top league in Italy.

Sanogo has proven to be a highly-productive player in the NBA G League in his two seasons since leaving UConn, having averaged 16.2 points and 10.1 rebounds per game last year. But he could never crack an NBA rotation, and was waived by the Chicago Bulls after appearing in just 13 games over two seasons.

He did give fans a glimpse of what he could do on the final day of the 2024 regular season, when he racked up 22 points and 20 rebounds in 35 minutes in a Bulls win over the Washington Wizards, but he never saw more than nine minutes of action for Chicago this past season.

The 6-foot-9 big man, originally from Mali, played for the Utah Jazz in the NBA Summer League earlier this month.
