TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – Toledo’s Top Talent was created to support young people fostering their talents in song, dance, comedy and performance.
This year marks the fourth season of the competition.
“My mom had this idea for several years. She just knew that there was a lot of talent locally and she just wanted to create a way that they could express and show the talent that they had,” said Sabina Rodriguez, who helps run Toledo’s Top Talent.
This year, the competition expanded its original 12-24 age limit to include adults of any age.
One winner will be chosen from the 18 and under category and one winner will be chosen from the 19 and older category. Each champion will receive a $2,000 prize.
The Toledo’s Top Talent organizers are inviting the community to pack the house at Owens Community College’s Center for Fine and Performing Arts for the first round of the show on Sunday Aug. 16, at 4 p.m.
Tickets are $10 for adults, and $5 for seniors and children ages 12 and under.
There’s a special surprise for the audience: a chance to win a new car courtesy of Taylor Automotive.
“For everyone that buys a ticket, you can get a raffle ticket and you can get a key to win a 2026 Hyundai Elantra,” Rodriguez said.
It’s a reward for people who come out to support the talent in Toledo.
“Being in a show and learning how to perform in front of people is vital to who you want to be as a performer,” said Oscar Tovar, a past winner of Toledo’s Top Talent.
His time competing on Season 2 was life changing, Tovar said. The UToledo engineering student has continued to work on his music and performance since the show.
This year, he’s returning as a judge and is excited to see the next generation of talent compete.
The show dates are all at 4 p.m. at Owens Community College’s Center for Fine and Performing Arts on the following dates:
- Aug. 16
- Sept. 13
- Oct. 8
- Nov. 1
