The new café at 1314 W. University Ave. is owned by franchisees Saige and David Lee and will serve the chain’s familiar lineup of pastries, cakes, breads and coffee, according to a company announcement.
“Our vision is to create more than just a bakery café,” Lee said in a statement. “We want to build a warm, welcoming place where guests can enjoy exceptional pastries, artisan coffee, and outstanding hospitality while creating lasting memories with family and friends.”
If it feels like another Paris Baguette opens in Texas every time you turn around, there’s a reason.
Chron reported in July that the chain opened its 27th Texas café in Plano as part of a broader push into some of the state’s fastest-growing markets. Founded in South Korea, Paris Baguette now operates more than 4,000 locations worldwide and more than 300 bakery cafés across North America. The company says it wants to reach 1,000 U.S. and Canadian locations by 2030.
Texas has increasingly become part of that expansion.
The Georgetown opening gives the chain another foothold in Central Texas. Paris Baguette already operates cafés in Austin and nearby Leander, while the company’s website lists another Austin location at Tech Ridge as coming soon.
The company describes its expansion strategy as an effort to bring back the neighborhood bakery café, largely through local franchise owners.
“We’re on a mission to re-establish the neighborhood bakery café as the heart of the community across the U.S., and we’re excited to see David bring this to life in his local trade area,” Paris Baguette CEO Darren Tipton said in the company’s announcement.
And at the rate Paris Baguette is opening in Texas, Georgetown probably won’t hold the title of the state’s newest location for very long.
