NEW YORK — An active investigation is underway after a New York City police officer and civilian were shot in Midtown, Manhattan, according to police sources.
The shooting happened outside 345 Park Ave., which is the building that contains Blackstone and the NFL headquarters.
Police sources say the officer and civilian were shot on the street at the location, and the suspect fled into the office building.
There is currently a lockdown at 345 Park Ave.
The conditions of the victims were not immediately known.

The suspect died by suicide on the 33rd floor of 345 Park Ave.
Officials are asking people to avoid areas near East 52nd Street between Park Avenue and Lexington Avenue due to police activity.
No further details have been provided.
The investigation is ongoing.
