Some Santa Fe schools were placed under a shelter-in-place this morning for an hour due to a bear sighting in the area.

“Milagro Middle School, Nava Elementary, Santa Fe High, ECO High, and Chaparral Elementary were placed under a shelter-in-place due to a bear sighting in the surrounding neighborhood,” Santa Fe Public Schools write in a Facebook post.

They say students and staff are safe, and they will provide an update soon.
