Evelyn Errante was clearly an audience favorite during her America’s Got Talent audition, but she got a mixed reaction from the judges.
The 13-year-old girl wowed everyone in the auditorium, and at home, with her powerful performance of “Defying Gravity” from the musical Wicked.
Evelyn did the battle cry riff exactly how Cynthia Erivo does it in the movie and she sounded amazing! Yet, the judges weren’t exactly convinced she should move forward.

Howie Mandel said, “You’re a lovely young lady who knows exactly what she wants to do and what you want to do is not something I really respond to… I have to be honest with myself. It’s a no.”
Mel B gave her a yes, but there was still some criticism, “The good thing is, you can sing like that at 13. By the time you get to 18, your voice is going to be amazing… That was a great audition. It wasn’t perfect. You have a lot of work to do, but I’m going to say yes.”
Simon Cowell gave her a yes, but criticized the song choice. “This is difficult, because I cannot bear that song. A lot of people love it. I get that.”
Heidi Klum gave an enthusiastic yes!
